Number of properties and tenants:  Properties    32       Tenants   44

Purpose of co-operative: To provide housing for the disabled and low income tenants.

Brief history of co-operative:  Formed in 1985 by the local community to provide housing for the intellectually disabled, Copper Triangle Housing Association Inc. was at one stage renamed Copper Triangle Housing Co-operative Inc.  We have since reverted to our original name.

The Association was borne out of the lack of suitable housing for the disabled in the local area.  With the help of local community members, our Association obtained more housing, and by 1988, we formed the current co-operative. In the 1990s we were able to grow our membership to include low income members, which led to us changing our name to a co-operative. Since then, our membership has grown to include single women with families, single men, the aged, group housing and mental health members.

Some of the achievements of the co-operative: Built aged care housing for members. Provided green waste bins. Maintained properties. Provided carports for 9 properties.

Some of the benefits of being in a co-operative: Working together as a team.

The benefits of being a member of CEHSA: We have been provided information, documents and policies, and a service for finance and rents.
